He jumped over the shelter fence to take a dog for a walk. He faces severe punishment.
On October 19, a man attempted to steal a mixed-breed dog from an animal shelter in Warsaw by jumping the fence. Shelter staff apprehended him before he could leave with the dog, which was returned to its enclosure. The 51-year-old claimed he only wanted to take the dog for a walk, alleging that the shelter's director had prohibited him from doing so. Previously a volunteer, he lost his privileges due to non-compliance with shelter rules. He was charged with burglary and faces a prison sentence of one to ten years. The shelter declined to comment on the incident or his past involvement.
