Shipments from China will be even more expensive. The head of KAS indicated the deadline
Starting November 1, a handling fee of two euros will be introduced for packages from outside the EU, aimed at reducing low-value shipments. This fee, similar to customs duties implemented in July, will apply to packages valued under 150 euros. The fee is part of a broader EU initiative to manage the increasing volume of e-commerce and ensure compliance with customs regulations. The handling fee will be collected by customs authorities and is intended to cover the costs of processing and controlling these shipments. The reform shifts more customs responsibilities to sellers and online platforms, enhancing transparency and consumer safety.
