For years it lay in ruins and debris. The finale of the high-profile Kokoszyce treasure case

The Wodzisław Śląski Tax Office has permanently deposited the Kokoszyce treasure at the local museum. This treasure includes a gold ring with a diamond, a star-shaped pendant adorned with diamonds, and several loose diamonds, valued at over 100,000 PLN. Discovered in 2015 by two men during construction work, the treasure was hidden in a metal box that had gone unnoticed for years. The history of the treasure dates back to 1945, when someone buried their family wealth to protect it from the advancing Soviet army. After years of attempts to find the rightful owner, the court ruled the jewelry forfeit to the state. Initially planned for auction, museum intervention halted this. The museum plans to showcase the treasure to the public this year, with a permanent exhibition set for 2027.
