"I will come for you." This is how a far-right activist harassed journalists and their families
On Wednesday, a jury found Tommy Robinson guilty of harassing two Daily Mail journalists, Andrew Young and Jacob Dirnhuber, causing them and their families real fear of violence. The trial took place at Southwark Crown Court and lasted several days, with the jury deliberating for two days. Robinson, whose real name is Stephen Yaxley-Lennon, began his intimidation campaign following a Daily Mail article in August 2024. He publicly targeted the journalists after they reported on his vacation during riots in Southport. The journalists testified about their fears, with one needing to leave home due to threats. Social media played a significant role in the harassment, with Robinson making open threats online. The Daily Mail expressed satisfaction with the verdict, emphasizing the serious consequences of Robinson's actions. Sentencing is scheduled for December 16, with potential prison time of up to 10 years for harassment that incites fear of violence.
