PS: Moedas suspended scooters to "take a breather" for the referendum
The PS party accused Lisbon's mayor, Carlos Moedas, of proposing a suspension of shared scooters to undermine a local referendum initiative. This proposal coincided with a popular initiative signed by 20,000 residents for a referendum on shared scooters. The PS criticized Moedas' administration for failing to manage the scooter system, leading to public safety issues. They emphasized that the suspension should not abandon soft mobility policies and called for an urgent plan to enhance the bike-sharing system. Additionally, the PS opposed a donation from Iberdrola for new ornamental lighting, citing transparency concerns and potential conflicts of interest.
