PSP says it allows a "symbolic number" of tents at the campsite

The PSP confirmed it will comply with a court ruling regarding housing protests, allowing a symbolic tent at Rossio until November 24. The police emphasized the need for balance between rights and public order, stating they have attempted dialogue with protesters. The court's decision clarified that a general prohibition on camping is not acceptable, and the PSP must respect the right to protest as long as it does not infringe on other fundamental rights. The Ministry of Internal Administration noted that the ruling pertains to an individual case and does not grant a general right to set up tents in public spaces.
