Putin says Russia is ready to negotiate a final agreement and not a "short" truce
Russian President Vladimir Putin expressed readiness for tripartite negotiations with Ukraine and the U.S. aimed at a definitive peace agreement, rejecting short-term ceasefires. He emphasized the need for discussions on security guarantees for both Ukraine and Russia, as well as the European security architecture. Putin dismissed Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky's proposal to freeze the front line in Donbass, asserting that the eastern regions are historically Russian territory. Zelensky, meanwhile, warned against conceding key cities like Sloviansk and Kramatorsk, which are crucial for Ukraine's defense. He highlighted the risks of allowing Russia to gain further territory, stating that Ukraine is already making significant concessions by maintaining the current situation.
