Pyongyang launches more than ten ballistic missiles into the Sea of Japan

North Korea launched over ten short-range ballistic missiles into the Sea of Japan, escalating tensions with South Korea. The South Korean military detected the launches from Wonsan around 12:30 PM local time. This marks the first missile test since October 14, following accusations from Seoul regarding landmines placed by Pyongyang near the border. North Korea denied involvement and accused South Korea of distorting facts. The missile launch coincides with Kim Jong-un's call for an elite military and threats from his sister, Kim Yo-jong, to increase military capabilities.
