Four Stellantis factories are halted, concern rises for 2027
Stellantis' Sochaux plant faces ongoing challenges despite a temporary reprieve in operations. The factory will halt production for ten days starting October 22 due to a shortage of electric batteries from supplier ACC. This pause aims to receive a shipment of batteries for upcoming Peugeot models. The automotive market has been declining for three years, leading to overcapacity in factories. Although the plant could pivot to producing gasoline models, demand remains low, forcing it to operate on a tight schedule.
