The Capital Assembly has approved, the agglomeration BKK can come from January 1.

The Budapest Assembly approved the transformation of the Budapest Transport Center (BKK) into a regional transport organizer, allowing it to manage public transport in the entire agglomeration starting January 1. The agreement includes a capital increase for the state-owned National Transport Center, granting it a 50% stake in BKK. Mayor Gergely Karácsony emphasized the benefits for nearly 3 million residents in the region. Additionally, the Assembly discussed the potential return of Margaret Island to the 13th district but did not approve the proposal. A parking management proposal by Ferencváros Mayor Krisztina Baranyi was also rejected, causing controversy among local leaders.
