Raids at far-right group's offices at European Parliament

Authorities conducted searches at the Patriots for Europe's offices in Brussels and Strasbourg as part of an investigation into alleged fund misuse linked to the former Identity and Democracy group. The European Public Prosecutor's Office confirmed the searches but did not disclose specific details. Patriots for Europe distanced itself from the allegations, asserting no legal continuity with the disbanded group. Previous audits revealed that the Identity and Democracy group misused over €4 million in EU funds, leading to significant internal conflicts before its dissolution in 2024. Patriots for Europe, formed from the remnants of the ID group, currently holds 85 seats in the European Parliament.
