Rath failed at the Constitutional Court. He complained about political pressure and the disproportionate nature of the punishment
The Constitutional Court rejected complaints from former Central Bohemian governor David Rath and three others involved in a corruption case related to healthcare contracts. Rath argued against the severity of his sentence and media coverage, but the court found the complaints unfounded. The court stated that the lower courts had adequately addressed the claims and based their decisions on evidence and legal assessments. Rath and others were implicated in arranging bribes for manipulated tenders worth hundreds of millions of crowns. The court's decision was made without a public hearing, and Rath has been free for over three years. Other defendants, including former Metrostav CEO Pavel Pilát, also faced penalties, with some receiving conditional sentences. A separate complaint from Metrostav Infrastructure remains unresolved.
