Passenger rights reform. Brussels gives the green light

The European Parliament has updated regulations for passenger rights across various transport modes, including air, rail, bus, and water. The new rules, approved by 652 MEPs, enhance refund processes for flight cancellations and require intermediaries to inform customers about refund policies during booking. Common forms for refund requests will be introduced, and additional protections will be provided for disabled passengers. A companion's free travel is mandated when necessary for assistance. National authorities will gain more power to enforce these rights independently. The regulations await final approval from the EU Council and are set to take effect on October 23, 2027.
