Rain forecast for Gelderland uncertain because there are (maybe) bats

Weather forecasts in parts of Gelderland are currently unreliable due to interference from poplar trees near a radar station. The KNMI's radar in Herwijnen is affected, leading to inaccurate rainfall predictions. The municipality of West Betuwe has not yet allowed tree trimming or removal pending an ecological study on bats. The KNMI is implementing corrections using higher radar scans and data from other regions to improve accuracy. Results from the ecological study are expected soon, which will inform future actions.
