Ukrainians and Russians agreed on regular humanitarian cooperation
Ukrainians and Russians will regularly conduct joint humanitarian actions, as announced by Russian human rights commissioner Jana Lantratova. This follows the evacuation of residents from Oleski, the only Ukrainian city under a ceasefire. The evacuation was the result of negotiations between Russian officials and Ukrainian human rights commissioner Dmitro Lubinec. The city, which had a pre-war population of 24,000, now has around 1,700 residents remaining, facing severe shortages of water, electricity, and gas. Despite the ongoing conflict, those wishing to leave for Russia or Ukraine were able to do so without restrictions. Approximately 750 people were evacuated during this operation, allowing many to reunite with family after a long separation. Fighting continues in other areas despite the ceasefire in Oleski.
