Restaurants in Sardinia ban phones at the table: 'Encouraging parent-child conversation'
A group of fifteen restaurants in Sardinia is temporarily banning phones and screens at the table to encourage conversation and reduce screen time among children. The initiative, called 'A tavola senza schermi', is led by the island's children's ombudsman and aims to promote family intimacy during meals. Participating restaurants will provide guests with games and coloring materials designed by pediatricians to facilitate discussions between parents and children. The project also includes a brochure outlining the risks of excessive online activity and tips for limiting social media use. The trial will last for a month, starting next week, with hopes of expanding participation.
