Giant unclogger at MAS draws attention to clogged sewers: "Think before you pour something down the sink"

Water-Link and the city of Antwerp are raising awareness about clogged sewers with a 5-meter high plunger at the MAS. The campaign highlights the increasing number of interventions due to blockages caused by construction debris and improper disposal of fats. In 2025, Water-Link responded to 150 incidents, costing €700,000, which affects all customers indirectly through their water bills. The initiative encourages both businesses and residents to think before disposing of waste in sinks, promoting better practices to prevent sewer issues.
