Revolution in the Krakow City Hall. President Gibała abolished 6 departments
The new structure of the Krakow office has been published, eliminating several departments as part of Mayor Łukasz Gibała's election promises. The previous structure was deemed unnecessary and costly. Departments such as education, communal affairs, and social policy have been dissolved, with their responsibilities transferred to existing units. Gibała emphasizes that this restructuring will save the city money, which is crucial given its significant debt of approximately 9 billion PLN. The city is currently facing a budget shortfall of nearly 400 million PLN for ongoing expenses. A detailed budget analysis and financial recovery plan have been initiated to avoid loans or bonds. Gibała was sworn in as mayor on October 20, following a referendum that removed his predecessor, Aleksander Miszalski.
