A family with six children needed more space. Now part of them lives in the Closet.
Architect Jan Šépka designed a separate house in the garden of a historic villa in Prague to provide more space for a family without altering the villa's original architecture. The new structure, named Skříň, features four floors and a total usable area of 34 square meters, accommodating two older children with their own rooms and bathrooms. Built on micropiles to preserve existing trees, the house integrates large glass walls for natural light while ensuring privacy with folding shutters. The design emphasizes minimalism and efficient use of space, showcasing a solution that respects the historical context while meeting modern needs.
