Rhodes underwater. Flash flood on the Greek island, streets turned into raging streams

Heavy rainfall in Greece has caused severe flooding and landslides, particularly affecting the island of Rhodes. In Archangelos, overflowing rivers transformed streets into torrents, sweeping away vehicles and flooding homes. Authorities issued alerts for residents and tourists to stay indoors, closing schools in several municipalities. The situation is alarming as this marks another flood event in recent weeks, following a fatal incident in Stegna. Other regions, including Kalymnos and Nea Anchialos, also experienced significant damage, with landslides and disrupted water services. Emergency services are actively responding to the crisis, although the threat of further storms remains.
