Rome prosecutors open new investigation into Pasolini's murder
The Rome Public Prosecutor's Office has reopened the investigation into the 1975 murder of filmmaker Pier Paolo Pasolini. This decision follows a petition by lawyer Stefano Maccioni, citing new evidence suggesting that the initial suspect, Pino Pelosi, was not alone during the crime. Pelosi, who confessed to the murder, later retracted his statement, claiming coercion. Despite previous rulings acknowledging the possibility of accomplices, later appeals did not confirm this. Maccioni expressed hope for clarity in the case and urged witnesses to come forward. Previous attempts to reopen the case were denied.
