"Russian bots and the GRU have a silent ally"

During a presentation of a report by the NASK research institute, Deputy Prime Minister Krzysztof Gawkowski criticized social media platforms for their inadequate response to misinformation. He emphasized the need for Polish-speaking teams to work directly with NASK and Polish security services. Gawkowski warned that failure to comply with state requests could lead to significant financial penalties for these platforms. The report revealed that out of over 65,000 reported misinformation cases, only a small percentage were moderated or removed. Gawkowski announced the establishment of a Center for Combating Disinformation to address these issues and collaborate with various stakeholders. A report will be prepared for the European Commission regarding platforms' roles in Russian disinformation efforts.
