Romania: after three failures, a pro-European government is finally invested in Bucharest
Romania has appointed a new government after a five-month hiatus following a no-confidence motion. Luca Niculescu, an independent and pro-European figure, received 280 votes in Parliament, exceeding the required 233. He aims to end the political crisis and revive the economy amidst various vulnerabilities. Niculescu previously served as Secretary of State in the Foreign Ministry and has a background in journalism and diplomacy, including being the French ambassador from 2016 to 2022.
