Route du Rhum: on board the brand new maxi-trimaran "Maxi-Edmond-de-Rothschild" of Charles Caudrelier

Charles Caudrelier and his team are fine-tuning their new maxi-trimaran, Gitana 18, ahead of the Route du Rhum race. The boat, measuring 32 meters long and 23 meters wide, is capable of reaching speeds near 30 knots. The team is currently testing their vessel on a course towards the Glénan archipelago, competing against other skippers, including Thomas Coville with Sodebo. The race, starting on November 1st, will cover approximately 3,500 nautical miles to Pointe-à-Pitre, Guadeloupe. Managing the boat's weight and sail adjustments is crucial for performance, as highlighted by the boat captain, David Boileau.
