Ceasefire in Ołeszki. Kremlin spokesman: it could set a precedent for future agreements
Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov stated that Russia appreciates the efforts of the U.S., including First Lady Melania Trump, in achieving a ceasefire in Oleshky. He noted that this agreement could set a precedent for future negotiations. Meanwhile, both Russian and Ukrainian military commands announced a ceasefire starting October 27 to facilitate humanitarian operations. The White House confirmed that both sides agreed to temporarily halt military actions in Oleshky to allow for humanitarian aid and civilian evacuation. Despite the ceasefire, concerns remain about the dire situation in the city, where around 2,000 people lack access to food and water due to flooding.
