Russia completes humanitarian mission in Oleshky
Russia announced the completion of a humanitarian operation in the occupied Ukrainian city of Oleshky, allowing civilians to evacuate and receive aid. The operation involved a convoy of buses and ambulances, with civilians choosing to go to either Ukrainian or Russian-controlled territories. The initiative, which included both Russian and Ukrainian officials, marked a rare joint effort since the large-scale invasion began in February 2022. The ceasefire in effect since Tuesday is expected to last until Sunday night. Civilians opting to return to Ukraine will first travel to Anapa, Russia, before flying to Belarus and crossing into Ukraine. The operation was prepared in Armiansk, Crimea, and involved demining efforts that resulted in casualties. Fighting continues in other areas of Ukraine.
