The trial concerns an incident that occurred on June 25, 2023, at the Academy of Art in Szczecin, where a lecturer, Marta K., is accused of causing a serious health risk and the death of a student due to negligence. The rector, Mirosława J., faces charges for failing to ensure safe working conditions. During the first hearing, Marta K. expressed her grief over the incident and claimed that the techniques used were standard and that students had received prior instruction. She stated that the university did not provide necessary protective equipment and that she was unaware of ventilation issues. The explosion resulted in severe injuries to two lecturers and a student, Maria Majcher, who later died from her injuries. The court has scheduled further hearings for December 7 and 18.
