The risk of death has sharply decreased. Breakthrough results from cancer vaccine research

A clinical trial involving 1,137 adults who had melanoma removed showed that combining Keytruda with an experimental vaccine significantly reduced cancer recurrence and spread. The study found a 42% decrease in the risk of recurrence and a 38% reduction in metastasis. After two years, 82.2% of patients receiving both treatments were alive without melanoma recurrence, compared to 70% in the immunotherapy-only group. The personalized vaccine, developed by Moderna and MSD, uses mRNA technology to train the immune system to recognize cancer cells. Further research is needed to confirm the long-term effectiveness of this approach, which may also benefit patients with other cancers.
