The government wants internships to be paid. Entrepreneurs: This could have the opposite effect.
On October 29, the Permanent Committee of the Council of Ministers will discuss a bill regulating internship organization, including mandatory compensation for interns. The proposed minimum payment is set at 65% of the minimum wage for a full month of internship. The Confederation Lewiatan has expressed concerns, arguing that internships should focus on skill acquisition rather than paid work. The Ministry of Family, Labor, and Social Policy emphasizes the importance of this bill in reducing youth unemployment risks. Deputy Minister Marek Gzik acknowledged the concerns but highlighted the necessity of the proposed changes, suggesting potential amendments to the project.
