The government divides money for local governments. Who will get the most?
The Polish Ministry of Finance has outlined the projected revenues for local governments in 2027, totaling 288.7 billion PLN, a 6.5% increase from 2026. Major cities like Warsaw and Kraków will receive the largest shares, while smaller municipalities face significant disparities in per capita funding. Local officials express concerns that rising costs outpace revenue growth, impacting their ability to meet financial needs and invest in infrastructure. The planned reforms in PIT and CIT taxes may further complicate the financial landscape for municipalities, raising questions about their future funding stability.
