The government is working on restricting children's access to social media

A proposed law in Poland aims to set the minimum age for accessing social media at 15, requiring age verification methods and enhancing user privacy. The legislation, developed by the Ministry of Digitization and the Ministry of National Education, is expected to be adopted in early 2027. It emphasizes the need for reliable age verification methods, such as a European digital identity wallet and the mObywatel app, while ensuring that only age confirmation is shared, not personal details. Additionally, the law will include educational reforms to address digital safety and responsible technology use in schools. The President of the Office of Electronic Communications will oversee compliance with the new regulations.
