"The Thing About the Idea": Who is Afraid of Old Age?
A recent CBOS study reveals changing perceptions of youth and old age among Poles. In 2026, respondents believe youth ends at 39, compared to 35 in 1998. The age marking the start of old age has also shifted from 61 to 67 over the same period. Notably, men and women have differing views on these life stages, with men generally considering old age to begin earlier.
