Sánchez admits that it is "not acceptable" to suffer two serious high-speed accidents in a year

Pedro Sánchez announced three days of official mourning in Spain due to the recent train accident in Urda, which resulted in 68 fatalities. He emphasized the need for accountability and thorough investigations into potential negligence or security failures. This incident follows another high-speed train accident in Adamuz nine months prior, which claimed 46 lives. Sánchez stated that the origins of both accidents are unrelated but acknowledged the necessity to enhance safety measures to restore public confidence in the high-speed rail system. In Catalonia, President Salvador Illa also declared three days of mourning and planned a minute of silence for the victims.
