Poland's neighbor introduces universal conscription. The date has been announced.
Lithuania will implement universal conscription starting in 2032, as announced by President Nauseda. This decision follows the partial conscription reinstated in 2015 due to security concerns after Russia's annexation of Crimea. The projected number of conscripts is around 7,500, considering demographic factors and health qualifications. The timeline allows for the necessary infrastructure and training of instructors. Additionally, the military service options will be expanded, enabling conscripts to gain qualifications in drone operation and support border protection and firefighting services.
