The Fidesz party foundation is establishing a knowledge center for Mária Schmidt

The Polgári Magyarországért Alapítvány is establishing the Szabad Magyarországért Knowledge Center to preserve the intellectual legacy of the Terror Háza Museum and to engage in scientific and educational activities. The center will be led by historian Mária Schmidt, who was recently dismissed from her position at the museum. The Fidesz party foundation criticized the political handling of the museum, especially in light of the 70th anniversary of the 1956 revolution. Historians have refuted claims of a restructuring at the museum, stating that Schmidt's team remains in place and there are no funds for layoffs.
