Kortrijk Theatre nearly finished, stage hall is now 100 percent accessible

The renovation of the Schouwburg in Kortrijk is nearing completion, with a reopening festival starting on November 4. The historic venue has been closed for three years for accessibility upgrades and modernization. Director Alexander Verveken, a wheelchair user, emphasizes the importance of making the theater accessible to everyone. The renovations include improved layout, fully accessible spaces, and acoustic enhancements for performers. The foyer has been redesigned for better usability, and a new restaurant, Jardin, will serve guests. The reopening festival will feature a variety of performances over five days, showcasing the venue's new capabilities.
