Neither Fidesz nor Mi Hazánk will participate in the parliamentary commemoration of the 1956 revolution
Representatives from Fidesz and Mi Hazánk will not attend the parliamentary memorial session for the 1956 revolution. Prime Minister Péter Magyar criticized their absence as shameful and unworthy of holding any office. Fidesz expressed understanding for Magyar's feelings but stated they do not miss him. They anticipate his speech will be disjointed, similar to his comments about French President Macron's invitation, which was later denied by the French embassy. Ursula von der Leyen, President of the European Commission, will attend the state ceremony. Mi Hazánk's leader, László Toroczkai, justified their absence by criticizing the election of András Baka as president and the invitation of European leaders he deems detrimental. Mi Hazánk will hold their own commemoration in Corvin Square instead.
