Insurance company in Portugal seeks to expand presence among high-income Brazilian investors
Swiss insurer Baloise is targeting high-net-worth Brazilian clients interested in diversifying investments abroad, particularly in Portugal. The company, which operates internationally without a local office, sees a significant demand for life insurance among wealthy Brazilians. Director João Marmelo notes that Brazilian clients typically have much higher assets compared to their Portuguese counterparts. He highlights a shift in client demographics, with younger generations now seeking opportunities in Europe. Marmelo also emphasizes the need for improved public services in Portugal to attract investors and reduce bureaucratic hurdles. Despite challenges, interest from Brazilian investors in Portugal remains strong.
