Seguro calls State Council on social cohesion for November 2

President António José Seguro has called a meeting of the Council of State on November 2 to discuss social cohesion. He has also invited parliamentary parties for individual hearings on this topic on October 29, following the budget vote. Amid ongoing housing rights protests, Seguro emphasized the need for broad agreement between the government and opposition parties to implement urgent and lasting measures. He has expressed concern over social and territorial cohesion, highlighting socioeconomic inequalities and rising prices in Portugal. This will be the second Council of State meeting during his presidency, the first being on security and defense.
