The Sejm passed changes to abortion law. Abortion allowed in cases of severe fetal defects

The Polish parliament approved an amendment to the Penal Code regarding abortion, with 217 votes in favor and 213 against. The amendment repeals certain articles that penalized abortion and introduces provisions for medical exceptions. This marks another attempt at decriminalizing abortion in the current parliamentary term, following a failed vote in July 2024.
