The Sejm decided on the increase of the tax threshold. Dudek: it was painful
The Polish Sejm approved a tax reform raising the income tax threshold from 120,000 to 130,000 PLN and introducing a new 24% rate for incomes between 130,000 and 150,000 PLN. Economist Sławomir Dudek commented that while the reform signals a positive change, it does not address fiscal issues as other taxes will be raised to compensate. The reform also increases the solidarity tax for high earners and adjusts the thresholds for flat-rate taxation. Dudek noted that the fiscal council's recommendations were ignored in the budget proposal.
