The Senate is facing personnel chess and considerations about a new committee

The recent elections slightly altered the balance of power in the Senate, with ODS and TOP 09 maintaining the largest representation. The Pirate Club and SEN 21 lost members. New senators will take their oaths on November 19. Currently, there are ten Senate committees, which may change in the new term. Leaders of the strongest parties are considering splitting the Foreign Affairs, Defense, and Security Committee into two due to its broad scope. While regular committee members will change, most current leaders wish to continue. Decisions regarding vice-presidents and the Senate president will be made in the coming weeks, with ODS and TOP 09 likely to nominate Miloš Vystrčil for the top position again, with voting scheduled for November.
