The Senate wants to restore the CIT increase and abolish the adjustment of tax thresholds

On Tuesday, the Senate voted on amendments to the personal income tax law, with 62 senators in favor and none against. The amendments aim to restore the CIT increase from 19% to 22% for companies with revenues over 50 million euros, a provision removed by the Sejm. Additionally, the amendments eliminate the annual adjustment of tax thresholds in PIT introduced by the Sejm. The law raises the first tax threshold from 120,000 to 130,000 PLN, maintaining a 12% rate below this threshold. A new 24% rate will apply to incomes between 130,000 and 150,000 PLN, while incomes above 150,000 PLN will be taxed at 32%. Changes to the lump-sum tax include lowering the revenue limit for opting for this taxation from 2 million euros to 250,000 euros and increasing the solidarity tax rate from 4% to 5% for incomes exceeding 1 million PLN annually. The new law is set to take effect on January 1, 2027.
