Sensational discovery in the forest in Podlasie. A burial site from over 1500 years ago
A significant archaeological discovery was made in a forest in Podlasie, revealing artifacts from the Wielbark culture. Experts from the Podlaskie Museum and the University of Warsaw conducted excavations, uncovering items such as decorative clasps, everyday objects, and burnt bone fragments. Despite the mixed soil layers and fragmented condition of the artifacts, their scientific value is emphasized. All findings are now at the Białystok Museum for conservation and documentation, with plans for a future exhibition. The exact location of the burial site remains confidential due to its historical significance, and the area is under constant monitoring to ensure its protection.
