Serbia remembers 16 victims of Novi Sad railway station collapse

Serbia commemorated the second anniversary of the Novi Sad railway station collapse, which resulted in 16 fatalities. Thousands of students participated in a silent march, laying wreaths and lighting candles in memory of the victims. The tragedy prompted a student-led movement demanding accountability for alleged corruption linked to the station's renovation. Although thirteen individuals, including a former minister, have been charged, no trial has commenced. The recent electoral victory of the Student List, which secured a significant number of parliamentary seats, has raised hopes for progress in the case and accountability for those responsible.
