Seven arrested for collaborating with opposition protest in Caracas

Seven individuals were detained in Caracas for their involvement in an opposition protest organized by Vente Venezuela. The party, led by María Corina Machado, reported that the arrests were made by the Bolivarian National Police. The whereabouts of the detainees remain unknown, prompting the party to alert the international community about this attack on peaceful demonstrators. The detentions coincided with a meeting involving Delcy Rodríguez and a negotiator from the 2015 Assembly, raising concerns about the timing. Hundreds protested across Venezuela demanding the release of political prisoners and the scheduling of elections. The Foro Penal reported 322 political prisoners in the country as of October 5, 2023.
