Shares in one of Ukraine’s biggest farm companies fall to a two-year low

Astarta's shares have plummeted to a two-year low, raising concerns about investor confidence in Ukrainian agribusiness. Trading was halted after a 19.14% drop on October 20, followed by an additional 8% decline. The shares are now valued at approximately half of their May peak. Other Ukrainian agricultural stocks also experienced declines, with the WIG-Ukraine index falling 3.38%. Astarta reported a net loss of €14.07 million in the first half of 2026, contrasting with a profit in the same period last year, primarily due to lower prices and increased logistics costs. The company's future performance will be closely monitored to assess the sustainability of this downturn.
