Siher leaves Milan jail shielded by supporters
Youssef Siher, a 30-year-old Italian researcher, was released from Milan's San Vittore Prison after being accused of creating social media channels for the "October 17 Movement". A judge ruled that he was organizing civil-disobedience events rather than inciting violence. Supporters formed a human chain to protect him from journalists as he left prison, accompanied by family and friends. Khader Tamimi, president of the Palestinian Community of Lombardy, was also present with a Palestinian flag.
