Sikorski: The President urged ambassadors to resign from their positions

The resignation of ambassadors Jakub Kumoch and Paweł Soloch is linked to the situation in the Constitutional Tribunal. Former President Andrzej Duda stated that Kumoch refused to comply with a diplomatic note regarding the chaos in the Tribunal, which the Foreign Ministry denied existed. Radosław Sikorski claimed that the ambassadors were pressured by President Karol Nawrocki, stating that it was the president himself who influenced their resignations. Sikorski emphasized that the Sejm, not the president, selects judges for the Tribunal, and the president's role does not extend to appointing ambassadors. He corrected his earlier statement, asserting that it was the president who pressured the ambassadors to resign, which he deemed inappropriate.
