Sikorski: The President urged ambassadors to resign from their positions

Two ambassadors, Jakub Kumoch and Paweł Soloch, resigned amid controversy surrounding the Constitutional Tribunal. Former President Andrzej Duda stated that Kumoch refused to comply with a diplomatic note intended to explain the chaos in the Tribunal, although the Foreign Ministry denied such a document exists. Radosław Sikorski claimed that the ambassadors were pressured by President Karol Nawrocki, and later clarified that it was indeed the president who urged their resignations. Sikorski emphasized that the selection of judges for the Tribunal is the responsibility of the Sejm, not the president, who has limited ceremonial roles. The European Commission believes the president should approve new judges for the Tribunal.
